Welcome to Memory Theta!

The Greek letter Theta was used as an ancient symbol for death or danger. As the repository for technologies, artifacts, and knowledge deemed too dangerous for public awareness or even storage elsewhere, Memory Theta embodies the ancient legacy inherent to its name. Due to its highly classified contents and location, the facility and its staff have been given a quasi-mythical status among even the highest echelons of Starfleet.

Previous administrators have resigned from the post due to workplace stress and psychological strain. Retrieval missions are not for the faint of heart, having garnered an unofficial reputation of terror in the Starfleet grapevine. Whenever a Theta team shows up, it often means some type of horror is on the horizon.

Pay no mind to the domesticated Borg drone butlers.

With the submission of our last group JP, our first mission draws to a close. Congratulations to you all. The total word count of The Final Countdown is almost 11,000 words! That's halfway to a standard novella. I can't be prouder of you guys for sticking with this project through thick and thin. Memory Theta has the best crew in the fleet, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

As you may have already seen, I've opened Mission 2 for posting -- "Half Past Dead" will see the field team go into a dark corner of the galaxy and find something terrible. The mission briefing won't be until the end of this month at the earliest, but if you want to jump ahead from the current timeline (say a week), then feel free to add personal posts to it.

I'll leave "Bynars Be Bygones" open for another week or so in order to allow us to wrap up any business on Bynaus, the Phantom, or on Memory Theta's Overwatch station. The command team has a few minor loose ends to finish before the mission closes, and I welcome anyone else to do the same.

At the risk of getting too mushy, I want to thank you all again. This has been very exciting, and I hope you've all had as much fun as I have. Here's to doing it again!

Our first mission has been a long one, but we're nearing the end of it. The time has come to start building the Memory Theta Archives. A couple of entries have already been placed in the wiki section (renamed Archives), and we're excited to add more to the list. Look closely for a sneak peak at our next mission.

Every last crew member gets love for making this fun and worth the effort! You guys rock.

Good news, everyone!

It's officially 2018, and although Memory Theta started mission day one on 1/1/2389, the new year has rolled around for Bravo Fleet's current mission year as well. Our first mission is progressing nicely with a surprise or two on tap. We've got some big things in store, in this mission and future ones, and I look forward to some exciting world-building and storytelling.

Thank you for being part of Memory Theta's launch.

This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.

Nevin yelled the man's name as he walked into the large Observation deck on Overwatch. He knew the man was here, but honestly couldn't care less who else was around. He was angry, and truth-be-told, very few things made Nevin angry enough to yell. But here they were, and…

A damp fog shot over the transparent aluminum window as the Overwatch Station formed against the flashing background of space, delaying her gaze as she tried to keep as much distance as possible between this new Station and herself. The fog quickly crept back though as the condensation evaporated, and…

The bags were deposited with a solid bounce on the master bed, the six seabags threatening to burst at their seams. What should have been a time of joy, celebration, and wedded bliss, however, was not. The air felt like it had been sucked out of the room and as…

It had been approximately a month since Bynaus. Change had been set upon an entire world through Memory Theta's actions. For many staff members of Memory Theta, their own personal worlds had seen changes just as drastic. Life has a way of settling, though, no matter the turmoil. In many…

The mess hall. It was a junior officer’s nightmare, especially on a first assignment. Especially on an installation such as Overwatch Station, where Zork had come to learn that turn over was high even amongst senior officers, and that he had been deemed “transient” by the resident AI due to…
