Welcome to Memory Theta!

The Greek letter Theta was used as an ancient symbol for death or danger. As the repository for technologies, artifacts, and knowledge deemed too dangerous for public awareness or even storage elsewhere, Memory Theta embodies the ancient legacy inherent to its name. Due to its highly classified contents and location, the facility and its staff have been given a quasi-mythical status among even the highest echelons of Starfleet.

Previous administrators have resigned from the post due to workplace stress and psychological strain. Retrieval missions are not for the faint of heart, having garnered an unofficial reputation of terror in the Starfleet grapevine. Whenever a Theta team shows up, it often means some type of horror is on the horizon.

Pay no mind to the domesticated Borg drone butlers.

With the submission of our last group JP, our first mission draws to a close. Congratulations to you all. The total word count of The Final Countdown is almost 11,000 words! That's halfway to a standard novella. I can't be prouder of you guys for sticking with this project through thick and thin. Memory Theta has the best crew in the fleet, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

As you may have already seen, I've opened Mission 2 for posting -- "Half Past Dead" will see the field team go into a dark corner of the galaxy and find something terrible. The mission briefing won't be until the end of this month at the earliest, but if you want to jump ahead from the current timeline (say a week), then feel free to add personal posts to it.

I'll leave "Bynars Be Bygones" open for another week or so in order to allow us to wrap up any business on Bynaus, the Phantom, or on Memory Theta's Overwatch station. The command team has a few minor loose ends to finish before the mission closes, and I welcome anyone else to do the same.

At the risk of getting too mushy, I want to thank you all again. This has been very exciting, and I hope you've all had as much fun as I have. Here's to doing it again!

Our first mission has been a long one, but we're nearing the end of it. The time has come to start building the Memory Theta Archives. A couple of entries have already been placed in the wiki section (renamed Archives), and we're excited to add more to the list. Look closely for a sneak peak at our next mission.

Every last crew member gets love for making this fun and worth the effort! You guys rock.

Good news, everyone!

It's officially 2018, and although Memory Theta started mission day one on 1/1/2389, the new year has rolled around for Bravo Fleet's current mission year as well. Our first mission is progressing nicely with a surprise or two on tap. We've got some big things in store, in this mission and future ones, and I look forward to some exciting world-building and storytelling.

Thank you for being part of Memory Theta's launch.

This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.

The one thing an investigator hates is being left in the dark.

Petty Officer Abril Hirano was one such person, by merit of both her recently former profession and her Latin heritage, she was not a woman that suffered obscurification or ambiguity with an even temper – with a talent…

Storr sat in the overstuffed tufted leather chair, staring at the far wall and its picture of the Ponte tower. Classical architecture was a close second to nature in the man's artistic rankings and he couldn't help but feel a deep tug of his roots due to the subject's location.…

Mrazak stared transfixed at the viewscreen as he had for the past several hours. The minutes had ticked by as the Vulcan measured every piece of data as it trickled in. At last, the Phantom breached the interior Oort cloud, allowing for a visual display of the solar system. Though…

The loading and prepping of the Phantom took more time than Mrazak ordered, but less time than he actually anticipated. All things considered, he was happy enough to be on their way. If the Phantom's slipstream drive was up to snuff, Abadar's Gate would only be a day away. If…
